Understanding Levels
How we place you in the right division and keep competition fair.
How Placement Works
We use a simple process to put you in the right pod so every match is competitive.
Tell us your level
When you sign up or pre-register, we ask about your experience and current level so we have a starting point.
We assign a division
You're placed in a division (A, B+, B, B-, C+, C, C-, or D) that matches your level. New players often start in C or D.
Rating updates with play
As you play matches, your rating moves. Win consistently and you can be promoted; we keep matchups fair.
Division Levels (A, B+, B, B-, C+, C, C-, D)
Each division represents a different skill band. You play in the one that fits you.
Division A
Highest level. Strong technique, consistency, and tactics. For experienced competitive players.
Division B+
Advanced. Solid all-round game, good positioning and shot selection. Just below A.
Division B
Intermediate–advanced. You can sustain rallies and play as a pair. Many league players sit here or in B+.
Division B-
Upper intermediate. Consistent basics and developing tactics. Bridge between B and C+.
Division C+
Intermediate. You know the rules and basics; you're improving consistency and court awareness.
Division C
Lower intermediate. Building consistency and shot variety. A good step up from C- or D.
Division C-
Improver. You're comfortable with the basics and starting to play more strategically.
Division D
Beginner–improver. New to league play or building confidence. A great place to start.
Dynamic Rating
Your rating isn't fixed. It changes based on your results so divisions stay fair over time.
- •Match results move your rating up or down so you're always grouped with similar-level players.
- •Promotion and relegation between divisions at the end of the season keep the league balanced.
- •New players get an initial rating from their self-assessment and early matches; we adjust quickly.
